Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Hebrews 13:20-21 NIV
God Will Provide
March 2024 marked 13 years of the Syrian crisis, and humanitarian needs reached unprecedented levels. Over 16 million people, approximately 70% of the country’s population, urgently required assistance. Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Türkiye collectively host more than 6.8 million Syrian refugees. This past March, the Canadian government announced $55.4 million in humanitarian assistance funding, which brought Canada’s total commitment to $147.15 million in international assistance funding to Syria and neighbouring countries for 2024.

There are so many in this world that are so needy. I’ve spent a couple of Easters in South Sudanese refugee camps in northern Uganda, and I’ve never seen such needs. At the end of the first trip, I sat in the airport in Entebbe and wept over what I had seen. As I looked out the window onto the tarmac, I saw a grey Hercules military cargo plane with a maple leaf flag on the tail and Canada on the side. Never have I been more proud to be a Canadian, knowing my country is providing relief for these poorest of people. If that is how a country responds to a great need, imagine how our Creator God does. In Hebrews 13:20-21 we read, “Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” God has the provision of heaven available for you. Ask Him to provide all He has for your blessing and His glory.
These have been words from the heart.
