“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”

Matthew 7:9-11 NIV

How Much More

Canadians’ plans to stick to buying Canada-made and produced products aren’t stopping, and a new survey suggests a majority say if given the choice between paying more to buy local, they’d do so. The survey questioned 1,500 Canadians at the start of February. It found that even though some Canadian items may cost more, most of us are willing to spend more money to keep that buy Canadian with 53 per cent willing to pay $5 more, and 33% $10 extra to buy a local product.

People can be incredibly generous. There is a reason why Go Fund Me pages do so well. When a legitimate need is made known, people respond and help each other out. If that is the case with strangers, it is even more so with families. Parents find that no matter how old their children get, they are still running the bank of mom and dad. The Bible uses this as an example for the generosity of God. In Matthew 7:9-11 Jesus says, “‘Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!’” God loves to bless those who love Him. He promises to provide all we need to walk in victory and to enjoy the abundant life that He promises. Trust God for your needs – He loves you with an everlasting and overwhelming love.
