There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Ephesians 4:4-6 NIV
Over All, Through All, In All
According to an article in The Globe and Mail this past February 28, for decades, Canadian foreign policy has leaned on the idea that we can simply “punch above our weight” by participating in international organizations, making ourselves useful to global institutions and embracing the moral high ground. While multilateralism has its merits, it is no longer enough in a world where power politics and regional blocs increasingly define international relations. Our reliance on international forums – be it the United Nations, NATO or the G20 – has led to complacency.”

Everything in this world is temporary. Just watch the ads on TV or online. They try to convince us that new is better, that we need to replace our kitchen, or bathroom, or bodies, or our minds. What a contrast to what Paul says about our unchanging God. In his epistle to the believers in Ephesus, he offers one of the most profound descriptions of the omnipresence of our great God. Ephesians 4:4-6 says, “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” What a blessing to know that in this transient, temporary world there is a God who is eternal and who holds all things together. This one God, who is Father to all things, is present filling the world He created. He holds all things together and is over, through, and in all things. He holds and fills you.
These have been words from the heart.
