Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV
The New Has Come
The history of France as a colonial power in North America began during the 16th century, during the era of European exploration and fishing expeditions. At its peak, the French colony of New France stretched over a vast area from the Gulf of St. Lawrence to Louisiana. The French presence was characterized by extensive trade, as well as recurrent conflicts with the Indigenous peoples, who were established over a wide area that France sought to appropriate.

Social media is filled with videos about things that used to be part of our lives but no longer exist. The rate of change in the past century is like never before in the history of the world. People pay a lot of money to buy the newest technology, or latest fashion. The thing about these is that before long, that expensive iPhone will lie collecting dust in a drawer somewhere. In this world, the new soon becomes the old. That is not the same in the spiritual realm. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 the apostle Paul writes, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!” When we repent of our sin and trust Jesus, we become completely new. He removes our sin and failure and replaces it with His life, abundant life now and eternal life moving forward. Everything changes in our lives. And unlike the world, that newness of life remains new, every day, as we spend time with Jesus and allow Him to daily renew us, becoming more and more like Him. Our relationship to Jesus, and our redeemed life, never grows old.
These have been words from the heart.
