There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV
God’s Ordained Times
The province of Newfoundland and Labrador observes two time zones: Newfoundland Time and Atlantic Time. Newfoundland Island, including the provincial capital St. John’s, observe Newfoundland Standard Time during standard time and Newfoundland Daylight Time (NDT) during Daylight Savings Time. Most of Labrador, except the southeastern tip closest to Newfoundland Island, observes Atlantic Standard Time and Atlantic Daylight Time. Even though the province follows two time zones, Newfoundland Standard Time is the official time zone per provincial law. Unlike most time zones, Newfoundland has a half-hour offset.

We spend so much of our lives planning for the future. We mark things on our calendar, plan for family times, and vacations. Most of the time the things we plan come to pass, but not everything – illness, financial pressures, even world events can stand in the way of best plans coming to pass. The only One whose plans are sure to come to pass is the One who governs the universe. King Solomon wrote this in Ecclesiastes 3:1: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” God rules all things – the one who set everything in motion continues to keep the universe, and our lives, in order. He has set a time for everything in our lives, and the sweet spot in our lives is right in the centre of God’s will for our lives. We don’t usually have a challenge accepting God’s will for our lives. What we often have a greater challenge with is accepting His timing. When we can wait on the Lord for His plan to work itself out, even if the waiting is long, we will have so much more peace.
These have been words from the heart.
