But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”
Luke 1:30-33 NIV
The Angel Visits Mary
Angel investors are wealthy, experienced business people who invest their time and money in high-growth businesses in exchange for equity. They are generally people who have amassed experience, networks and knowledge in an industry. Most are entrepreneurs themselves who’ve been through the highs and lows of managing a business, making their advice invaluable. Robert Simon, Senior Managing Partner, BDC Capital said, “Ideally, you are looking for someone who is knowledgeable in your sector and has experience in working with start-up companies.”

Yesterday we spoke about the angel who appeared to John the Baptist’s father Zechariah. While we don’t see angels on a regular basis, they remain an important part of God’s plan for the redemption of the world. When the angel appeared to Zechariah, he doubted, and so was made mute for a time. This was not the response when the same angel, Gabriel, appeared to Mary, to announce that she would bear the Messiah Jesus. Luke 1:26-38 tells us the story and in verses 30-33 we read: “But the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants for ever; his kingdom will never end.’” Mary knew that through Gabriel, God had spoken, and other than wanting to know how it was going to happen, Mary fully trusted God. When God speaks to us, we must obey just as willingly.
These have been words from the heart.
