I love those who love me,
and those who seek me find me.
Proverbs 8:17 NIV
Finding Him
If you’re looking for more of an out-of-way place to visit in Canada, there are plenty of them. Vancouver Island has the highest concentration of caves in Canada (there are more than 1,400 of them). One of the most stunning places to go on a subterranean adventure is at Horne Lake Caves, where you can spelunk to your heart’s content through absolute darkness. If that isn’t enough of an adrenaline rush, you’ll also have the chance to barrel down the only underground slide in Canada—and rappel through a waterfall!

We were in the middle of a move back on our 25th anniversary, and the ring I had bought Wendy to mark that anniversary went missing. In the midst of the chaos of moving, with boxes everywhere, we searched and searched for it, but it never showed up. It is easy to lose the things of this world, never finding them again. What a contrast to the Kingdom of God principle found in Proverbs 8:17: “I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.” While God often seems far away, He really isn’t far at all. There is an old Gospel song that says, “standing somewhere in the shadows you’ll find Jesus, and you’ll know Him by the nail prints in His hands.” Jesus isn’t hiding himself. He is hidden by our sin, but His grace will cover them and wash them away so that He becomes visible to the eyes of our faith. Reach out to Him today in faith, and He will reveal Himself to you. Those who seek do find Him.
These have been words from the heart.
