“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

Test Me

This past April, the New Brunswick government flip-flopped on its protocol for testing air quality in public schools. About an hour after it was reported that only schools with new mechanical ventilation systems would be tested — and not schools without ventilation systems — a spokesperson emailed to say the government had changed its mind. Erika Jutras, spokesperson for the Education Department, said, “We were just advised that we will continue to test schools without a ventilation system until the school has one or the school is replaced.”

One of the greatest privileges for the man or woman who is a follower of Jesus is that we are blessed to have a relationship with our Creator. His desire has always been to have a relationship with us – the entire narrative of the Bible is His building of a people for Himself following the destruction of that relationship that resulted from Adam and Eve’s disobedience. It is no coincidence that the final three chapters of Revelation sound so much like the first three chapters of Genesis. God so wants us to get to know Him – to understand His nature and His love for us. As He teaches us things about His nature, He sometimes says “just see how I will work in your life when you put your trust in me.” In Malachi 3:10, in speaking about the blessings that come to those who put Him first, He says, “’Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.’”
