God supplies seed for the person who plants. He supplies bread for food. God will also supply and increase the amount of your seed. He will increase the results of your good works. You will be made rich in every way. Then you can always give freely. We will take your many gifts to the people who need them. And they will give thanks to God.

I recently watched a short video on social media in which a young farmer listed the cost of operating a farm for one year – including such things as land, seed, fertilizer, equipment – and it totalled over a million dollars. That’s a huge outlay and gamble every year for us to enjoy the food we do. That’s how things are in this world. It is far different in the Kingdom of God. In 2 Corinthians 9:10-11, Paul writes, “God supplies seed for the person who plants. He supplies bread for food. God will also supply and increase the amount of your seed. He will increase the results of your good works. You will be made rich in every way. Then you can always give freely. We will take your many gifts to the people who need them. And they will give thanks to God.” For the follower of Jesus, God has promised to supply all we need to flourish in our own spiritual life and in our service for him. As we set out to live for Him and express the love of Jesus for others, we can count on Him supplying all we need – for His glory.
