Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.
Psalm 150:6 NIV
Everything That Has Breath
Asthma is a chronic condition characterized by cough, shortness of breath, chest tightness and wheezing. Asthma symptoms and attacks usually occur after exercise, exposure to allergens or irritants, or viral respiratory infections. More than 2.4 million Canadians aged 12 years and over live with asthma – 9.8% of females and 7.0% of males. While there are many effective approaches to asthma including clinical management, medication and self-care, optimal control of the condition remains elusive for a majority of Canadians living with asthma.

On the day we call Palm Sunday, the religious leaders told Jesus to order those shouting Hosanna to be quiet. Jesus replied that if they kept quiet, the stones would cry out. Every time I visit that place outside Jerusalem and recognize that the whole of the Mount of Olives is a rock pile, I think “if the Pharisees think the crowd is loud, they couldn’t imagine how loud it would be if these rocks cried out!” God is going to be praised. His creation shouts His praise in its beauty and majesty. In the final Psalm, King David writes this in Psalm 150:6: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.” In God’s creation, the stones don’t need to cry out. God has given voice to those in His animal kingdom, and to human beings. The Psalmist, poetically, calls on all in God’s creation who breath, to praise their Creator. Those of us who are the highest of His creation are called to do so continually – to praise Him for His uncountable blessings and for His majesty and glory.
These have been words from the heart.
