Donation-based crowdfunding is currently the best-known and most popular crowdfunding model. This type of financing allows donors to receive rewards in exchange for money. This financing model is divided into subcategories: Traditional donation-based where donors make a donation without expectation of reward, like Fundrazr here in Canada. There is also reward-based where donors receive a tangible reward for their donation. The rewards are generally varied and designed to encourage participants to donate more money in exchange for more interesting gifts. Government-matched crowdfunding is unavailable in Canada.

There are crowds and there are crowds. If you’re at a sports event, filling a stadium or arena, it can be fun to be with thousands of others cheering for a sports team. But if you find yourself in the middle of a protest, feeling like it’s always on the edge of a riot, being in a crowd leads to a totally different reaction. King David found himself in the midst of a throng of people, but it wasn’t a sports event, or a protest, but a worship event. When the people of God gathered together for the annual gatherings in Jerusalem – the Temple had not yet been built – it was a rousing time of worship and praise. In Psalm 109:30, David wrote this: “With my mouth I will greatly extol the Lord; in the great throng of worshipers I will praise him.” The people of God have always gathered together to worship the Lord. One day, millions of us will do so around God’s throne. In the meantime, let’s get together regularly to lift up the name of Jesus and offer Him the praise He deserves.
