For the word of the Lord is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does.
Psalm 33:4 NIV
Right and True
While it is true that Canada is not the largest country in the world – Russia holds that distinction – it is true that Canada has the longest coastline, with a length of over 240,000 kilometres. With the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Arctic Ocean on the north, and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, only two provinces, Alberta and Saskatchewan do not border on salt water in some way. Protecting our coastline is one of our federal government’s most important tasks.

The Bible is filled with references to the word of God. Even Jesus Himself is referred to as the Logos – the Word incarnate. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has always been known as the God who speaks, and He has done so through prophets, priests, kings, apostles, and through Jesus Himself. This is why Christians put so much importance on the Bible – it is the record of God’s speaking into the world He created and loves. So, it shouldn’t surprise us that King David speaks to the voracity of God’s Word when he says, in Psalm 33:4: “For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.” David understood that he could trust what God had placed on the hearts of men to record even up to his own day. What God says is right and true. No wonder Satan has always done what he can to throw doubt and disrepute on God’s Word. Don’t fall for his lies. David understood what we need to remember – God is faithful, so what He says in His Word, the Bible, is right and true.
These have been words from the heart.
