Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1 NIV

On the website startswithy.com, the blogger writes this: “When it comes to describing Canada, there are countless adjectives that come to mind: Majestic: Canada’s expansive forests, towering mountains, and breathtaking waterfalls are truly majestic. Pristine: From the crystal-clear lakes to the untouched wilderness, Canada’s natural beauty is second to none. Serene: The tranquil landscapes of Canada evoke a sense of peace and serenity. Picturesque: Canada’s stunning landscapes make it the perfect subject for a postcard-worthy picture. Lush: The verdant forests and green meadows of Canada are a feast for the eyes.”

The internet is filled with pithy quotes about just about anything. Google “quotes” and the reply will be endless. Smart people say quotable things all the time. But there is no book ever compiled that has more memorable sayings than the Bible. Nowhere, for example, is there a more succinct description of faith than that found in Hebrews 11:1: “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Our relationship with Jesus, and our daily walk with Him is all by faith. We see Him through the eyes of faith, and we hear Him through the ears of faith. That faith gives us the confidence that He is the fulfillment of all our hopes and dreams. Our faith grants us the confidence, the assurance, that what the word of God promises will surely come to pass. This is the hope that is far different and far greater than the hope offered by the world – it is hope based on the assurance of God’s Word, the hope based on the truth that nothing our Creator promised can ever fail.
These have been words from the heart.
