…for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

God Working in You
In a Canadian federally regulated workplace, in most cases, the maximum hours of work allowable in a week is 48. If you are a person doing both an unpaid student internship to fulfill the requirements of your educational program and paid employment with the same employer, your total hours of work must not exceed: 10 hours in a day, or 48 hours in a week The maximum hours of work in a week can be exceeded in exceptional circumstances.

There are a lot of exhausted followers of Jesus in this country. They are working hard to serve the Lord and out of a genuine desire to see people come to Jesus, with a heart of compassion to serve those who are hurting, wanting more than anything else to see Jesus glorified. These are all good, but there is one thing most of us miss – Jesus doesn’t want us burning out. I know how serious an issue this is – I was recently at a gathering of 1,000 mission leaders, and at one workshop, they handed out a sticker, which I’ve added to my water bottle, that simply says “thou shalt not burn out.” They wouldn’t need that sticker if burnout wasn’t a problem. So, what is the solution? Listen to what the apostle Paul says in Philippians 2:13: “…for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil his good purpose.” Listen carefully to what Paul is saying here. The true Christian life is one where God is working in us and through us. He empowers us to not only want to do His will for our lives, but He acts in us to do so in His might.
These have been words from the heart.
