God Will Bless You
An editorial in the Vancouver Sun that was printed the day before Canada Day in 2017, Canada’s 150th birthday, said this: “As Canadians, we’re blessed in so many ways, with arguably the world’s richest and most magnificent landmass. At just under 10 million square kilometres, we are second only to Russia in being the largest country on the planet, with tremendous natural resources, a wide array of beautiful terrain, and virtually unlimited opportunities for outdoor recreation.

As I travel around the world, visiting Christians in countries on every continent, I am amazed at the variety of ways that God’s people address each other. In India, they begin a conversation with “praise the Lord.” While the words used to greet each other may be different, when Christians say goodbye, the final words are often “God bless you,” no matter what their language. It is natural for God’s people to want others to experience the blessings of God. Our greatest desire is for people to enjoy the favour of God in every part of their lives. What you may not know is that God commanded His people to pray this blessing on each other. In Numbers 6:22-24 we read, “The Lord said to Moses, ‘Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: ‘The Lord bless you, and keep you;’” God wants to bless us. So, He commands Aaron and his sons to be blessed, and to pass that blessing on to others. What a wonderful thing to do. Take time today to pray God’s blessing on others. You will find yourself blessed as you see God bless others that you have prayed His blessing upon.
These have been words from the heart.
