When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.

Colossians 2:13-14 NIV

God Has Canceled Your Sin

Airlines have to comply with Canada’s Air Passenger Protection Regulations. When a flight is delayed or cancelled, airlines must first inform passengers of the reason in plain language, regardless of whether the situation is in their control or not. They also have to ensure that the traveller completes their journey. A spokesperson for Air Canada told CBC News that the Canada Day weekend disruptions were due to bad weather, particularly storms in the U.S. and Montreal. It also cited the busy travel season.

If we were to stand before a human judge, able to review our lives in light of God’s holiness, we would all hear the gavel come down on the desk and hear the judgement – guilty! We know we have said things, done things, thought things, that make us sinners. The Bible is very clear about this – all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Which brings us, thankfully, to Jesus! In his great epistle to the Christians in Colosse, Paul writes about what God has done for us who deserve to be punished for our sin. In Colossians 2:13-14 we read: “When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.” When Jesus died on the cross, He bore our sins and our punishment. All charges against us are dropped the moment we trust Jesus Christ as Saviour. Have you?
