“Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.”

Matthew 10:32 NIV

Confessing Christ

According to an article on the use of confessions in Canadian courts, “The confession of an accused is often the most important evidence in a criminal trial. The law has therefore created special safeguards to ensure that special attention is given to them, in light of confessions being made due to threats or promises. The safeguards have been in place for some time. In fact, the holding of a trial within a trial to determine whether a confession is inadmissible was first noted by Lord Mansfield back in 1775.

Good news is hard to keep to yourself. In this day of social media, people often share important moments in their lives. You will often find photos of weddings, graduations, baby births, birthday parties – we could go on and on. Which is why it is beyond me how Christians can keep Jesus, and what He has done in our lives, to ourselves. I hear too many people say that their faith is private. Well, that’s a nice thought, but it isn’t a Biblical one. In Matthew 10:32, Jesus Himself says, “’Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.’” If Jesus has transformed your life, you will want to tell others about him. One Christian author said that sharing Jesus with others is no different than telling a starving person where to find food. Part of being a Christian is confessing our faith in Jesus and testifying to others about Him. You don’t have to have all the answers to the questions they might ask – you just need to tell them what He has done in your life. When you do, you have the assurance that Jesus is telling the Father all about it.

These have been words from the heart.
