Abundant Life
Jonathan Wilkinson, Canada’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, recently said this: “Developing our abundant critical mineral resources in Saskatchewan will drive economic opportunity and create jobs. Foran’s McIlvenna Bay mining project alone will support nearly 400 jobs and reinforce Saskatchewan’s position as a global mining leader by producing more Canadian copper and zinc to supply our own needs and those of our allies. Canada will continue to be a partner in the development of our critical minerals supply chains, from end to end, in order to drive economic benefits and contribute to a secure future.”

It is pretty obvious that we live in a world where life has little value. We think little of ending human lives early on, late in life, and far too often in between. Our world can be violent, and war has become far too common. Without an acknowledgement that our Creator exists and is concerned about what is happening in our world, it is too easy to end life, too easy for those with power to take advantage of the rest, too common for violence and chaos to fill our headlines and our hearts. Jesus recognized this and said, in John 10:10: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” The thief is certainly having his way in our world and our lives these days. But don’t give up hope, followers of Jesus. He comes to us, and works through us, to bring abundant life to all who reach out to Him in faith.
