“The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”
Numbers 6:24-26 NIV
Bless
According to theculturetrip.com website, Canada is blessed with beautiful scenery, and to prove it, they point to a lesser-known waterfall that they say out-awes Niagara. At a staggering 96 metres, Virginia Falls is almost twice as high as Niagara, with a ground-shaking roar that can be heard for miles across the wooded wilderness of Nahanni National Park. Its remote location is both the reason it’s overlooked in favour of the more easily accessible Niagara and why it makes for a more breathtaking experience.

There is a Biblical blessing that is beloved by those who follow the God of the Bible. It is found in Numbers 6:24-26: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Because this is so often used in Christian circles, I wonder how often we really consider what it means. What does it mean for the Lord to bless us? Biblically, to be blessed by God means to experience His presence in our lives, to receive from Him what He knows would be best for us. To be blessed by God is to fulfill His purpose for our lives. To be blessed by God is to experience His grace continually, and His peace. God offers this to all who acknowledge Him and who live to bring Him glory. For centuries, God’s people have prayed this blessing on others in the family of God. It’s a good thing to pray God’s blessing and grace on others who walk with Jesus. So, the Lord bless you and keep you.
These have been words from the heart.
