Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
“Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”

God Will Never Leave You

Immigrants to Canada are increasingly leaving this country for opportunities elsewhere, according to a study conducted by the Institute for Canadian Citizenship and the Conference Board of Canada. In fact, the number of immigrants who left Canada rose by 31 per cent above the national average in 2017 and 2019. Factors that influence onward migration include economic integration, a sense of belonging, racism, homeownership, or a lack thereof, and economic opportunities in other countries, the report revealed.

We are created for a need for companionship. While there are true hermits who live alone and never see anyone else, but they are rare. We need each other, which is why family and friends are so important to our mental, physical and spiritual health. Our Creator knows this and so promises us over and over in His word that He is with us. To confirm this, He stepped into the world in the person of Jesus the Christ. The author of Hebrews understood this and writes in Hebrews 13:5: “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’” This is a vitally important part of Kingdom thinking. While the world seeks after material things – it teaches the more you have the more successful you are – the Kingdom of God says that the love of money and all it can buy means nothing compared to knowing that our God is with us. He walks with us, fills our lives and no matter what we are going through, He is with us.

These have been words from the heart.
