Cause me to understand the way of your precepts,
that I may meditate on your wonderful deeds.

Psalm 119:27 NIV

Meditate on His Wonders

One of Canada’s natural wonders is the east coast’s Bay of Fundy. It sits on the northeastern end of the Gulf of Maine between the provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The Bay of Fundy, which receives the waters of several rivers from the provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, is best known for having the highest tidal range on Earth and for having one of the highest vertical tidal ranges. It has tides that can reach a maximum measured range of 16.3 meters.

Jesus promised His followers that His words would live on forever. Through historical evidence and careful translation, by the work of the Holy Spirit in preserving God’s Word, we can trust what it says and live by its teaching and precepts. Through God’s Word we gain a historical understanding of His working in the world He created. No wonder we are commanded to meditate upon His Word. King David writes this in Psalm 119:27: “Cause me to understand the way of your precepts, that I may meditate on your wonderful deeds.” As we take time to meditate on all God has done, as recorded in the Bible, we find it easier to see what He has done in our world and in our own lives. Take time today to observe in God’s Word all that He has done in history. Then take time to record where He has done wonderful deeds in your life. As you look back on all He has led you through, you may be surprised to see the many ways He has stepped into your life to perform His wonders.

These have been words from the heart.
