When God does something, He is all in. The Bible often uses superlatives such as all, completely, fully and every. Ultimately, God owns everything and rather than hording it all for himself, with complete abandonment He shares it all with us. The Bible says, in James 1:17: “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” What an amazingly generous God we have come to know through faith in Jesus Christ. He pours out blessing after blessing upon us. Our lives are filled with good and perfect gifts and everyone one of them comes from our loving Father. He has always done so, and He will always do so, because that is His nature, and He is unchanging. Take time today to consider those good and perfect gifts. As you do, you will find gratitude welling up and that will lead to praise. We ought to take time every day to consider God’s generosity and we ought to live every day filling our lives with praise for the God who provides every good and perfect gift.
