God Gives New Life
The CT-155 Hawk, formerly the RCAF’s Fighter Lead-in advanced jet training aircraft, is finding new life at the Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering, where a fleet of 15 aircraft will soon serve as new maintenance trainers for aircraft technicians-in-training. The Hawks were taken out of flying service in March 2024 following close to 24 years training Canadian, allied and partner nation pilots on the fundamentals of fighter jet tactics. Options for a more suitable future fighter lead-in trainer are being explored.

Most of us have visited a cemetery at some point in our lives – some of you have been there recently, laying to rest a loved one. Cemeteries bring about so many emotions. Death is so final. Which is why the apostle Paul writes what he does in Colossians 3:3: “For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” Everything about the Christian faith is about the new life that Jesus brings to all who put their faith and trust in Him. When we repent of our sin and put our faith in Jesus, everything changes. We now have hope where there was none, we now have peace where we once had fear, we now have joy where there once was only heartache. How can this happen? Paul gives the answer here – because we are now hidden with Christ in God. Our lives now belong to Him and He covers us with His abiding presence. He never leaves us or forsakes us. When we truly understand this, it won’t matter what others say to us or do to us. We are dead to self and hidden in God.
