I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ.

Sharing your Faith

Canada and Australia enjoy strong and multifaceted bilateral relations. Canada regularly consults with Australia to advance common interests on international issues, based on their policy convergence in many areas, including defence and security, trade, human rights, migration, transportation, Indigenous, social, cultural, academic, and regional issues. The Canada-Australia Consular Services Sharing Agreement allows Canadians to receive consular services from Australian officials in a number of countries where Canada does not have an office, and vice versa.

Think, for a few moments, about all that is impacted by our relationship to Jesus. It affects how we live our lives – what we say yes to and to what we say no. It affects our relationship with others – our passion to tell others about Jesus, and how we express His love and compassion to others. It affects how we deal with the challenges that come our way and how we deal with those who oppose the Gospel and oppose those, like us, who boldly and lovingly share Jesus. Paul writes to his friend Philemon about this in Philemon 1:6, where he says, “I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ.” Philemon was a faithful partner with Paul’s ministry, and so the apostle prays that as his friend stands with him, Philemon might see, in a much deeper way, all that believers share as we together walk with Jesus. You don’t live your Christian life in isolation. As you walk with other Christians, worship with other Christians, serve with other Christians, I pray that your understanding of all we have, together, in Jesus, will deepen.

These have been words from the heart.
