Commit Your Way
Back in 2016 a group representing Canada’s major grocers committed to buying cage-free eggs by the end of 2025. The Retail Council of Canada said the voluntary commitment would be contingent on “availability of supply within the domestic market.” The Retail Council includes Loblaws, Metro, Sobeys and Wal-Mart Canada, which together represent 90 per cent of grocery retail in Canada. The commitment to raising egg-laying hens in a humane manner was a further escalation in a movement that had been gathering speed for the previous two years.

We make commitments all the time – to our marriage, our family, to work, churches, and clubs we belong to. One of the marks of maturity is keeping those commitments, living our lives with integrity. Our relationship with Jesus is sealed by faith in the One who loved us enough to take upon Himself our sin, guilt and shame on a Calvary cross. When we fully commit to following Him, living according to His will for our lives, He works His plan out for our lives. Psalm 37:5-6 says, “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.” God wants to transform your life. He wants you to become the man or woman of God that will bring glory to Him and will bring His life and light through you into this dark world. That can only happen as we fully commit ourselves to Him and to His working out His plan for our lives. Commit to Him and trust in Him fully.
