Becoming like Jesus isn’t rocket science. If you are a follower of Jesus, your desire should be to look like, act like, think like the Master. This isn’t a difficult thing – we simply need to daily surrender our own will to the will of God and find every delight in Jesus. The more we do, the more we will find our will lining up to His will for us. Psalm 37:4 says, “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” The world finds delight in pleasing the flesh – and that comes with a price – sin, pain, regret, fear, shame. When we turn our back on pleasing the flesh, and more and more desire to please the Lord, lining up our will with His, we discover that He gives us the desires of our heart, the desire to honour Him in all ways in the thoughts we think, the decisions we make, and direction we take in life. He gives us the desires of our hearts when those desires line up with His desires for us. Do your desires line up with God’s desires? If not, allow Him to mould your heart to line up with His.
