“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”

John 17:24-26 NIV

Jesus’ Desire

Prior to the release of the latest federal budget, the Ipsos Company released its poll about what Canadians were looking for in the budget. They discovered that Canadians were mostly looking for help paying their bills rather than having investments in the military or clean energy transitions. The Ipsos poll surveyed 1,000 Canadians between March 15 and 18. Women, at 53 percent, more so than men at 36 percent rated cost-of-living support as a priority. Half of Gen X respondents said they were looking for pocketbook help in the budget.

When we love someone, we want to be with that person. It’s why spouses spend time with each other, and families get together as often as possible. They become the priority for our time. Jesus has the same desire for us. Listen to what he prays in John 17:24-26: “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.  Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.” Jesus prays that we might be with him. His great desire is that those who have put their faith and trust in Him, and who have been introduced to the Father, will want to spend time and eternity with Him. Do you?

These have been words from the heart.
