But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33 NIV
But Seek
If you’re seeking for Canada’s most isolated place, Grise Fiord would be a good place to start. It’s an Inuit hamlet on the southern tip of Ellesmere Island, in the Qikiqtaaluk Region, Nunavut. It is one of three populated places on the island; despite its low population, with only 144 residents, it is the largest, and only public community on Ellesmere Island. Created by the Canadian Government in 1953 through a relocation of Inuit families from Inukjuak, Quebec, it is Canada’s northernmost public community.

Every human being is seeking after something. Most want a better life, so we seek after that. If you’ve had a loved one, or favourite pet, go missing, you seek after them. If you’re traveling and need gas, you seek after a gas station. We don’t often stop and think much about all we seek after; but Jesus did, and he tells us that there is one thing we must seek after above all others if we are going to have the right priorities in life. In Matthew 6:33 we read: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Jesus and His Kingdom must always be what we seek first. When we do, everything will then fall into priority. Anything that puts Jesus second in priority is a mistake. Sadly, many people do so. They spend their time, their energy, their finances on things that have far less importance in the Kingdom of God and wonder why their lives don’t make sense. Put Jesus first. Always. Make His Kingdom your priority, and everything in your life will fall into place for God’s glory and your blessing.
These have been words from the heart.
