Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.
Jude 1:5 NIV
Delivered and Destroyed
In Canada, it is a crime to destroy currency in the form of coins. The Currency Act is a Federal Act in Canada that specifies that without a license granted by the Minister “no person shall melt down, break up or use otherwise than as currency any coin that is legal tender in Canada.” Violation of this rule or any condition attached to the licence can result in a fine of up to $250 or imprisonment for up to 12 months or both.

We all love to get good news. We recently had a baby born in our family and there was great joy when the news arrived that mom and baby were both doing great. There is a reason why the message of Jesus is called the Gospel – from an old English word that means good news. It is actually the best news ever – that Jesus loves us and came to take the punishment that we deserve for our sin and wayward heart. In his epistle, the apostle Jude reminds us that God has always been about the business of delivering people from our slavery to sin. He uses God’s deliverance of the people of Israel from Egypt as an example. In Jude 1:5 he writes, “Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.” All of us at one time, and now if you have never invited Jesus to be your Saviour, are slaves to sin. If you love the Lord Jesus, take time today to thank Him for delivering you.
These have been words from the heart.
