Greet all God’s people in Christ Jesus. The brothers and sisters who are with me send greetings.

Send Greetings

On the 60th anniversary of Canada’s maple leaf flag, King Charles III sent greetings to Canadians and a strong message to our country. The monarch, who is Canada’s head of state, praised the “resilient” country on social media. The message read: “Today my wife and I join with Canadians across Canada, and around the world, to commemorate an important milestone – the 60th anniversary of the Canadian flag. On February 15, 1965, the red and white maple leaf was first flown on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.

There aren’t many people who send Christmas letters anymore. I got three or four of them this past Christmas – I used to get dozens. I think it’s mostly because of social media. We now live in a world you can get instant and ongoing news about someone and their family throughout the year. All this being said, I was glad to get those few letters. Someone had taken the time to craft the letter and send it out. It was good to hear from them. The apostle Paul was in prison when he wrote to the Church at Philippi. He is so glad to hear from them and expresses his gratitude in Philippians 4:21: “Greet all God’s people in Christ Jesus. The brothers and sisters who are with me send greetings.” We need each other in the Christian family. The simplest of greetings can arrive at the moment we need to know others are thinking of us, supporting us, sending their greetings. Take time today to pray about who the Lord might be prompting you to send some greetings. You might just be an answer to prayer.

These have been words from the heart.
