Let us examine our ways and test them,
and let us return to the Lord.
Lamentations 3:40 NIV
Examine Your Ways
Canadian primary and secondary standardized examinations are examinations developed in Canada and taken by primary and secondary students in some provinces and territories in Canada. The majority of the exams are developed provincially and are unique to each respective province and their related adjacent territory. This is as a result of education in Canada being in the jurisdiction of the provinces and territories. Such exams can be important factors in the determination of final grades and, therefore, also in scholarship decisions, college, and university admissions.

Jeremiah’s call from God was not an easy one. He watched Judah be taken into captivity by the Babylonians, who then destroyed Jerusalem. The prophet knew that God’s people had strayed from their God, and he was called to proclaim a message of returning to the God who had made them a people. He wrote the book of Lamentations, lamenting the backsliding of the people of Judah into spiritual and national despair. In Lamentations 3:40 he writes: “Let us examine our ways and test them and let us return to the Lord.” We live in a day when many who grew up in the Church, knowing the Gospel and hearing about Jesus, have walked away – some into atheism, others into New Age practices, and empty religions. God’s Word calls them, and us, to examine our ways and test them. Have we wandered away from our Creator, from the One who loves us and is willing to welcome us back whenever we set out on our own selfish ways? Even those of us who love Jesus need to take time to examine our ways, and test them, and if we have wandered, to return to our first love, Jesus.
These have been words from the heart.
