If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
James 1:5 NIV
God Will Give You Wisdom
Camels are known as beasts of burden because they are capable of carrying heavy loads. The Cariboo camels were a number of camels that arrived in British Columbia as pack animals. The Bactrian camels were used on the Douglas Road and the Old Cariboo Road in 1862 and 1863 to haul freight during the Cariboo Gold Rush. Although the experiment was a failure, the Cariboo camels retained an almost legendary status in local popular culture.

We all have to make decisions. Most of the time we don’t even think about making them- what should we wear for the day, what should we have to eat, what music do I want to listen to. Those kinds of decisions we find easy to make. But there are decisions that call for much more wisdom, more wisdom than we have ourselves. So, we talk about the issues, sharing them with our spouse, other family members and friends, our pastor, a counselor. All of this is good, and godly people can give good counsel. But ultimately, we need to bring these kinds of decisions to the Lord, who wants to give us His wisdom. The apostle understood this and writes in James 1:5: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” I love that James includes the fact that God doesn’t find fault. He wants to be included in every decision we make, and will always provide the wisdom we need, through His word and by the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
These have been words from the heart.
