Surely God is my salvation;
I will trust and not be afraid.
The LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation.

Isaiah 12:2 NIV

God Will Strengthen You

School buses are the safest way to transport children to and from school, more so than any other means of transportation. That is because school buses are built – inside and out – to protect children. They are painted a distinctive shade of yellow and are equipped with flashing red lights and a stop arm designed to help children get on and off the bus safely. At the same time, Canada is working on strengthening school bus safety nationally.

We often are told, by those who don’t know the Old Testament well, that the God of the Old Testament is somehow different from the God of the New Testament – that somehow, He is much harsher and judgmental. But this is just not so. The Old Testament, among other things, is the record of God’s development of a people to represent His holy nature. So, He calls them to be a separate people from the nations around them. He makes the same call to us today, although because of the cross, and the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, we now have the inner strength, by His grace, to stand against the pressure of the world to become like it. Which makes an Old Testament promise interesting. The prophet writes this in Isaiah 12:2: “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my defence, he has become my salvation.” Isaiah knew that while in his day the people of God were called to defeat those who would lead them away from God, it was God who is ultimately the one who gives them – and us – the power to stand for Him alone.

These have been words from the heart.
