How many are your works, Lord!
In wisdom you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.

Psalm 104:24 NIV

Today is the first day of autumn. Welcome to this season of glorious colour and sweaters. God’s creation is amazing at so many times of the year, but particularly at this time of the year. Fall in Canada is the favourite season for many in this country. It seems that God is at His creative best right about now. Which is a good reminder to take time during this season to appreciate the goodness of God. The Bible puts it this way in Psalm 104:24: “How many are your works, Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.” As I prepare this, our bird feeders and fountain are filled with birds of all sizes and colours – blue jays, cardinals, goldfinches, chickadees, sparrows. These are some of the creatures our text speaks about here. The leaves haven’t started to turn yet where I live, but they will in the next few weeks. These are some of the works in our text for today. As we watch the season turn, we are reminded by the Psalmist to see the Lord in all the beauty around us. If he can wisely create this amazing world, He can guide your life wisely as well.

These have been words from the heart.
