God is Close to You
A trip to the French islands of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon is a must for anyone planning travel in eastern Newfoundland. With a piece of Europe just 20 km from the province’s southern coast, why wouldn’t you plan an international trip? It may be tempting to plan a quick day trip across the water in the midst of your visit to Newfoundland, but a longer visit is key to seeing all the islands have to offer. If time allows, plan to stay at least two nights on Saint-Pierre and one night on Miquelon.

I’m sure you’ve noticed that life can be difficult. It could be that right now you are facing unpleasant things happening to you and your loved ones – maybe the challenges are financial, or medical, or interpersonal. If this is so, I’ve got some good news for you. God has spoken to us through the prophet and says in Isaiah 43:2: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” This is an amazing promise from our Creator, who cares deeply for us. Life’s challenges can seem so overwhelming, and they can be, but God assures us that He is the ultimate first responder. He’s on the spot when you feel you are drowning in difficulties. He is on the spot when you are feeling the heat of life’s pressure. Trust Him in the tough times, and you will find Him to be an ever-present help.
