always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Always and For Everything

Here are a couple of things that say something about Canada. Studies have shown that no North American bottled water is safer or better for your health than what comes from our taps. So, drink up and enjoy. The Kenora Thistles were an amateur hockey team based in the small Northwestern Ontario town. They won the Stanley Cup in 1907 beating the Montreal Wanderers and then lost the cup two months later in a re-match. Kenora is the smallest town to have ever won a Stanley Cup.

There are some of you who are going through really challenging times right now. They may be the most challenging times in your life. At times like this it can be difficult to see God in the midst of all of this, and at times like this, you need to stand on the promises of His word. Paul writes this in Ephesians 5:20: “always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Paul’s life was far from easy. In Scripture, he lists all the suffering he faced in his life, and it would make the strongest, toughest of us wonder about it all. But in the midst of it, he is able to write about giving thanks for everything. For everything? Even the tough times? Yes, because God uses those wilderness times to strengthen us. In my own life, those were the times when I had to trust God like never before. Those are the times that drove me to my knees like never before. Always give thanks to God, for everything.

These have been words from the heart.
