Let them praise your great and awesome name—
he is holy.
Psalm 99:3 NIV
Awesome
Canada has so many awesome places for you to visit. One place that you’ve likely not been to is Dorchester, New Brunswick. Dorchester is a charming coastal town known for its picturesque beauty and old-world charm. The quaint town is a part of the Fundy UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and offers a natural escape from the city’s hectic life. There are also many historical attractions to add to the trip, such as the Keillor House and St. James Presbyterian Church. Visitors will also enjoy scenic trails, kayaking, fishing, as well as taking pictures with the World’s Largest Sandpiper, carved from a single log.

Every time I use the word awesome to describe God, it bothers me. If you break down that word, it means some awe, and that doesn’t describe God at all. There isn’t just some awe about God – He is filled with awe. Everything about Him is awe. Sadly, the word aw-ful means something else altogether, so the best word we have is awesome, which is the word King David uses in Psalm 99:3: “Let them praise your great and awesome name – he is holy.” In order to praise God fully, we need to understand just how filled with awe, and holy, He really is. As you read the Scriptures, you discover that every time someone gets just a glimpse of God or one of His emissaries, the person falls before God, overwhelmed by the glory and holiness. That is the God who brought this world, and us, into being. He alone deserves all the praise and glory we can offer. Ask God to reveal Himself to you today, and then praise Him.
These have been words from the heart.
