May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face shine on us— so that your ways may be known on earth,
your salvation among all nations.
Psalm 67:1-2 NIV
Among the Nations
An online article gives an answer to why Canada is one of the safest among the nations of the world. It says “Canada’s safety ranking is driven by its low violent crime rates, secure transportation, reliable healthcare, and robust counterterrorism strategies. With a well-organized public infrastructure, inclusive social policies, and high safety scores, Canada provides peace of mind for travellers and residents alike. These factors collectively create a secure environment, appealing to tourists and immigrants looking for a safe, high-quality place to live.”

God loves us and as we enjoy His presence, loving and serving Him, allowing His grace to flow through us, we are blessed. Our desire should be, in everything, to experience the joy of His gracious hand upon us. That is a great place to be, and we ought to long to enjoy the blessings of God on our lives. But there needs to be a greater desire in our lives – everything we do, and the blessings of God in our lives, ought to be to lift Him up in our world and through the nations of the earth. That is a lofty goal, no doubt. But it is exactly what King David prayed in Psalm 67:1-2: “May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us – so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.” What a blessing to experience God’s gracious blessings in our lives. What joy to have His face shine upon us. May this all happen so that His salvation will be known throughout the entire world.
These have been words from the heart.
