We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers.
1 Thessalonians 1:2 NIV
Mentioning in Prayer
Canada In Prayer began in 1998 as a network of individual intercessors and prayer groups. The goal then, as it is today, is to provide Canadians here and overseas with a forum focused on strategic prayer for renewal and revival – first in our churches and then in our nation. The strategy for this unique alliance was set forth in the Vancouver Agreement. It was a call to the body of Christ to be aligned in prayer and fasting for our nation on the first Friday of every month. https://www.canadainprayer.com/history

I was in a group the other day and people were sharing their prayer needs. One shared about a friend who had taken his own life, another about family members who were in critical condition following a car crash, another asked for prayer for a new mom who was dealing with some issues tied to the delivery. These were all serious prayer requests, and we all took the call to pray seriously. Praying for someone else not only blesses them but can lead to blessing for us. As Paul greets the Christians in Thessalonica, he writes this in 1 Thessalonians 1:2: “We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers.” Paul begins his letter to the Thessalonians with a heart full of gratitude. When Paul remembers them, he remembers their faith. He remembers how they turned from idols and chose the living God. He remembers how they were not just hearing the Word but living it—day by day. When you pray for others, whatever their need, express your gratitude, thanking God for them as you pray for Him to meet their need.
These have been words from the heart.
