Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Delight

One blog says that maple syrup tea is one of the most delightful Canadian experiences. It makes maple syrup tea by adding 1-2 teaspoons of maple syrup to a cup of fresh brewed tea. It suggests you can also add cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger if you’d like. The blog goes on to say, “Maple syrup tea is a unique addition to the Canadian tea scene, and is a favorite among those who love the sweet taste of maple syrup.”

There are lots of things in this world in which we take delight. It might be beautiful scenery, time with family and friends, a delicious dinner, or a nice cup of hot maple syrup tea. When we take delight in such things, we experience a sense of “all is right with the world.” If this is the case with the things we experience in this world, how much more is it so with our experience with our God. King David understood a spiritual principle we all need to understand. We read about it in Psalm 37:4: “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” When we find our greatest delight in the Lord, He pours out His blessings on us in so many ways. When our heart is set on Him, when our desire is only for Him and His will, we can count on Him filling us with every good thing. Take delight in every blessing that He sends your way, and most importantly, take your delight in Him. Set your heart on Him alone. Then you will find delight in your desire to praise Him, serve Him, love Him.

These have been words from the heart.
