There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV

A Season

Growing season is expected to increase across Canada, with implications for forest productivity and composition. The length of the growing season is an important determinant of plant growth and distribution. Longer growing seasons may increase plant productivity and allow for new planting opportunities in agricultural and forestry settings. However, related changes in pest species, fire regimes, droughts, and other climate extremes may limit the extent to which these gains are realized. There has been a significant increase in growing season length (approximately 2 days/decade) across the country over the 1950 to 2010 period.

I’m so grateful God designed the seasons. There are lots of seasons in life, not just the annual rhythm of the year, but other seasons – there is planting season and harvesting season, there is the season in our lives of education, building our families, a season of working and then retirement. God designed life this way, and so we read in Ecclesiastes 3:1: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” If you are going through challenging times right now, remember that this is a season. And just like winter always leads to spring, so this season in your life is going to come to an end and something better will follow. We do not live in pre-Aslan Narnia where it is always winter and never Christmas. It might feel like winter to you now, but spring is coming. These difficult days will not last forever, and as we have been focusing the past couple of weeks, during this time, the Lord is always available for refuge and protection. He will carry you through this time, and He will lead you into the next, better, season of your life.

These have been words from the heart.
