The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:19-21 NIV
Evident
According to the Canadian Encyclopedia, “The question of what it means to be a Canadian has been a difficult and much debated one. Some people see the question itself as central to that identity. Canadians have never reached a consensus on a single, unified conception of the country. Most notions of Canadian identity have shifted between the ideas of unity and plurality. They have emphasized either a vision of “one” Canada or a nation of “many” Canadas. A more recent view of Canadian identity sees it as marked by a combination of both unity and plurality.”

We don’t have to look far to see the result of sin. The news is filled with the depravity of men and women, living to please their own base instincts and fighting one another for a piece of land or a to correct a wrong left simmering far too long. The Bible often speaks to the evident sinfulness of the human heart. Paul writes about this in Galatians 5:19-21: “The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.” There is only one way for sinful human beings to have the assurance of eternal life – turning from our sin and trusting Jesus Christ and experiencing the new and eternal life that He alone promises. Paul reminds us that not everyone will inherit the kingdom of God – only those who have turned from their sin and trust Jesus as Saviour and Lord.
These have been words from the heart.
