For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 NIV
Eternal Life
Canada has an eternal flame. The Centennial Flame is a major feature on the Parliament Hill grounds. You will find it just inside the Queen’s Gate in front of the Peace Tower. It was originally built as a temporary monument. Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson lit the flame for the first time on December 31, 1966, to open the celebrations of Canada’s 100th anniversary of Confederation. Canadians loved the monument so much that it became a permanent feature.

The older we get the less we need. I read an article the other day about the challenge to the economy as Boomers get older because they are spending less. The average Canadian spends 40% less the year they retire and the years following than the year before they retire. We learn something about God in this. He loves to give too. The Bible says in James that every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father. There is one gift, however, that rises above all the others. John 3:16 tells us, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Out of God’s infinite love, He gave that which guarantees eternity to those who receive that gift. He just keeps on giving because He keeps on loving. As with all gifts, the gift of eternal life, the gift of redemption and salvation, must be accepted. He is offering it to you, today. It is the best gift ever offered and He is offering it to you. Because He loves you. Imagine, your Creator loves you and offers you grace, forgiveness, redemption, eternal life. Have you received His great gift?
These have been words from the heart.
