I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
Psalm 139:14 NIV
Wonderfully Made
You might be surprised to know that some of the chocolate from your local gourmet chocolate shop, or in the cookies you buy in your supermarket, is made right here in Canada – in a plant in Chatham Ontario. Production in the Barry Callebaut chocolate plant in Chatham includes a broad range of products, from liquid milk and dark compound to molded products. Magnum ice cream bars are one of many popular treats eventually produced. In addition to Chatham, a new plant has been built in Brantford, Ontario with the largest facility located in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec.

You won’t hear this in the average Canadian classroom, and you won’t hear it often in the workplace – but at the heart of Christian Gospel is that you are beautifully created by God, who loves you and who has a plan for your life. The Psalmist understood this and Psalm 139:14 says, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” I have a good friend who is a general surgeon, and he tells me that every time he sees into a human body, he is amazed at the creativity of God who designed this incredible thing called the human body. There is simply no way that what we have come about by chance. You are lovingly created by Jesus, the Creator, who loves you dearly and has a plan for your life. All of God’s works are wonderful – just look around our beautiful world. But when He created human beings, and breathed His breath into us, He did something so very special. You are not an accident, and you are not here by chance. Your Creator invites you to trust Him by faith.
These have been words from the heart.
