God Will Deliver You
Getting rid of daily mail delivery is not an option Canada Post is considering, the Crown corporation’s president and CEO told MPs this past June. Canada Post has been asking for changes to its governing regulations, including around how often it has to deliver letter mail. But Doug Ettinger told the House government operations committee that if anything, the Crown corporation needs to expand its operations to compete with private companies in package and parcel delivery. He said, “we need seven-day delivery, that’s what we need.”

I wasn’t around when Laurel and Hardy were in their prime, but I remember as a boy some late-night TV featured this funny duo and their crazy antics. They were always getting into some dire situation to which Ollie would say to Stan “This is another fine mess you’ve gotten us into.” They aren’t the only people that got into another fine mess. All of us have found, at one time or another, that our lives are not pleasant. It might be financial issues, or errant children, legal challenges or a relationship failure. It could be an addiction that has taken us down a path we never expected or wanted. Listen to what King David says about that in Psalm 97:10: “Let those who love the Lord hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.” God is the only One who can deliver us from the challenges we are facing. He guards those who keep they eye on him, so we avoid the messes that life can be. And He delivers those who find themselves in a tough spot. Trust Him.
