Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Encourage One Another

The website inspiringcanadians.ca says “Every day, Canadians across the country shine their amazing light through the work that they do. When they shine, they inspire those around them to do the same. That powerful domino effect is how we make this country – and the world – a little brighter each day. Our aim is to reflect that light and magnify it. To spotlight amazing people doing amazing things. To further inspire others to turn their own inner light outward and help make Canada a shining beacon of hope and progress.”

There is a lot in this world that will discourage us. People are dealing with all sorts of challenges – financial, family, work, substance abuse – we could go on and on. The news doesn’t help – in this world of social media, we are bombarded with bad news from all around the world. Then there are those who despise Christians and our Lord Jesus. Even in this part of the world, where there is freedom of religion, it isn’t easy to be a sold out follower of Jesus. Christians need each other – and we need to encourage one another in our walk with the Lord. Paul speaks into this in 1 Thessalonians 5:11: “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” There are many in the Body of Christ who are natural encouragers – Romans 12 lists them among the list of motivational gifts. But all of us who love Jesus are called to the ministry of encouragement. We need to build each other up. Take time today to consider who you can encourage in their walk with Jesus, then get in touch.

These have been words from the heart.
