For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Proverbs 2:6 NIV

Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding

This past May, First Nations craftspeople from across Manitoba and Saskatchewan gathered to showcase their skills in Winnipeg, at an event both the people learning and those teaching hoped can help preserve and revive traditions. The three-day event, organized by Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak and titled “Revitalizing Our Roots,” was held at Winnipeg’s Assiniboia Downs. It’s the first time Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak has hosted a gathering of this kind. Grand Chief Garrison Settee says the organization, which represents 26 northern First Nations, hopes to do its part to bring people closer to their culture.

Some people have the natural ability to think logically through challenges and come to what seems to be the best options for a solution. This is a gift, and many become leaders because of this trait. I have friends who are so blessed, and while I have great respect for them, they often tell me that if it wasn’t for taking time with the Lord, seeking His wisdom and guidance, they would never be able to lead effectively. Even the wisest of human beings lack the wisdom that our Creator has. So, it’s a great blessing to know that He is always willing to share His wisdom with us. In Proverbs 2:6 we read, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” God’s wisdom, knowledge, and understanding is always perfect and always available through His word and in prayer. No matter what you are facing today, God is willing to provide all you need to walk through this in victory. He does give wisdom, and He speaks knowledge and understanding. Listen for His voice today and make use of what He says.

These have been words from the heart.
