Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?

2 Corinthians 13:5 NIV

Testing Our Lives

People with COVID-19 can have mild symptoms, severe symptoms or no symptoms at all (also known as asymptomatic). COVID-19 rapid tests may be used to help quickly identify and isolate people who have COVID-19. This includes people who don’t have any symptoms. Always follow the instructions contained in your test kit or provided by your local health authority. The instructions tell you how to take the test and collect a sample. They are written specifically for that particular type of kit. If you take a sample in a different way, your test result may be invalid.

God is very aware of how far short we fall to be the holy people that Jesus died to make us. He has done everything possible to help us walk in victory day by day, starting with stepping into residence in our lives through the indwelling person of the Holy Spirit. Knowing that we are far from perfect, however, is not an excuse to go on sinning. Paul would even ask the rhetorical question that if grace is always available, can we simply go on sinning knowing that God’s grace will always cover our sin? His response was simple – no way. In 2 Corinthians 13:5, Paul writes, “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realise that Christ Jesus is in you – unless, of course, you fail the test?” Once we have come into a relationship with Jesus Christ, our desire changes. A mark of truly being His follower is that we want to do what is right. So regularly we need to examine our lives so that we can request His cleansing power when needed.

These have been words from the heart.
