A man who had been reported missing on October 19 last year while hiking in the freezing Canadian wilderness was discovered to be alive in late November. According to a press release from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Sam Benastick was found after two men going to work saw him on the Redfern Lake trail. Benastick began his trip in Redfern-Keily Park − located in British Columbia − on Oct. 7, which was supposed to last only 10 days. He ended up being in the remote area for 50 days.

Are you going through a tough time? Are there things that make you afraid? Most of us grow out of being afraid of monsters under the bed or in the closet, but there are still monsters we face as adults. Some of them are far more real than the monsters of our childhood. How grateful we were for parents who loved us and whose presence made the monsters disappear. It is a lovely picture of how our Creator deals with the very real monsters in our adult lives. Isaiah 41:10 tells us: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” The God who created you, and who promises never to leave you or forsake you, is with you. There is no greater promise for those going through challenging times. He is not only with you, but He promises you His provision of strength and help. Remember today – God is with you. Let Him deal with your monsters.
