You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Psalm 16:11 NIV
Path
According to research conducted by Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection, out of a list of 15 world-class destinations considered among the safest in the world for travellers, our very own home and native land – Canada – ranked #1! Canada came out on top, beating out powerhouse destinations like Switzerland (#2), Norway (#3), Ireland (#4) and the Netherlands (#5). And it’s not just inbound travelers exploring Canada; Canadians are still choosing to travel in their own backyard despite the resumption of global travel, post-pandemic.

Growing up in northwestern Ontario, I loved hiking the paths of the numerous provincial parks that are in that part of the province. They lead a person to some incredible scenery and along the way there is a variety of flora and fauna to enjoy. God has a path for each person who is a follower of Jesus. The Psalmist understood this and wrote in Psalm 16:11: “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” As with a path through the Canadian bush, the spiritual path that Jesus leads us on has a destination and lots to see and experience along the way. The best part of the path that Jesus leads us on is that He joins us along the way. He sets our path, leads us along it, and points out the pleasures. I wonder how much more enjoyable our relationship with Jesus would be if we saw it as a hike along the path He has set out for us. Enjoy the hike with Him today.
These have been words from the heart.
